I went to Blue Palms Brewhouse twice now. I was extremely impressed each time. Once the place was packed with folks and still the staff as busy as they were continued with fantastic service. They looked tired, but still served with huge smiles on their faces and were very attentive to my every need. The second time there were about 5 people in there and everyone got to talking and the staff joined in and we all had a very good time in such company. Their food was TOP NOTCH!!! I've never been to a beer bar in L.A. with such a great reasonably priced menu. When I say reasonably priced I mean they even suggested to my wife and I that the items we wanted were in large enough portions for us to share. They understand the importance of not overfilling on food so to enjoy your beer. The Beer!! Never in L.A. has there been such a great beer selection. I mean, they rotate their taps often (24 + 1 cask) enough so I'll never get bored of their selection. When I've visited I've been lucky to have Rodenbach's Grand Cru, a lovely scottish ale called Old Chub, wonderful Greenflash IPA's and many others. I'm extremely impressed they have the Green Flash Double Stout that I have yet to return for!!! What a great place!!! If I have to say 3 words to convince others to visit the Blue Palms Brewhouse they would be, "GO, GO, GO!!!"

"Great beer, Good People and Fun Times"

I recently checked out the Blue Palms with some friends. We were serching for a place in LA that we could hangout and have beer, totally casual. Well we found that and alot more at the Blue Palms. The beer list is insane and they change it all the time. The bartenders were awesome at explaining all the different beers. The owner Brian was great too, I think he walked up and said hi to every table. The food, awesome. I had the rings and wings, its the best wings and onion rings I've had in a long time. I really enjoyed myself and I know my friends did too. We found our new hang out. You gotta check it out. Oh and on Sundays they have kegs and eggs. They open really early and service breakfast and beer during football season. Great Idea!

Editorial review

This glammed up Hollywood ale house recalls Old Tinseltown with hard-to-find American craft beers and gourmet pub grub to eclectic concert crowds from the next-door Henry Fonda.

If your passion is a perfect draft beer, look no further than this newly revamped Hollywood haunt that serves up 24 American microbrews on tap--many found nowhere else--served in real glassware at the proper temperature and gas mixture. The crowd's diversity adds to the energy-- everyone from fancy Pantages theatergoers to faux-hawked punks from the adjacent Henry Fonda Music Box--while an Old Hollywood vibe is alive and well with original 1920's high wooden beams, terrazzo floors, mirrors and hefty oak tables. The upscale yet unpretentious menu offers favorites like fish and chips, hot wings, steamed mussels, Kobe beef burgers, lobster salad sandwich and rye Reuben.

This place really is the best in LA. The selection changes all time and every time I walk in I try something I've never had before. Some cool event is going on almost every week and every Wednesday is BA night from 5-7. Brian is the man, he knows beer and it shows. He has always been very friendly, very helpful and very generous, particularly with his own collection of brews. While I do agree that the Blue Palms isn't all that it can be in terms of atmosphere, I will say that it is on its way. The chalk boards that define each style of beer are a nice new touch for the beer beginner and the new redesigned beer lists are helpful in describing each individual beer they have on tap. The food here is also top notch with a few of the items on the list including beer in the recipe. Always a plus with me. Finally, the price. In a city where everything feels overpriced, the Blue Palms may be one of the few places where you feel like you get your moneys worth. Add to that daily $3 happy hour from 5-7 and this place is a limp dick: you just can't beat it. Brian truly is a Beer Advocate.
